Administrative Services Department
The City of Chico’s Administrative Services Department consists of the Finance and Information Systems departments.
City Attorney
The City of Chico contracts for legal services with the law firm of Alvarez-Glasman & Colvin, with Senior Partner Vincent C. Ewing designated as City Attorney. He manages all legal matters (litigation and transactional) for the City and advises the City Council, City departments, and advisory bodies.
The City Attorney’s Office serves as the legal counsel to the City of Chico government and does not represent or provide legal advice to citizens, groups, or other entities.

The City Clerk’s Department is the link that connects the residents of Chico to their government.
City Manager
The mission of the City Manager’s Office is to provide professional, ethical and trusted leadership in the administration and execution of policies and objectives approved by the City Council; to develop and recommend alternative solutions to community problems as identified by Council; to plan and develop new programs to meet the future needs of the City; to prepare the annual budget; and to foster trust and pride in city government by providing excellent customer service, building a sustainable government structure, and effectively and efficiently directing City operations.
Community Development Department
The Community Development Department is responsible for the Planning, Building, Housing, Code Enforcement and GIS division functions.

Living in Chico is a dream for those who love the outdoors. Winters are generally mild with lows dipping into the 20’s during the coldest months with highs touching the low 100’s during the hottest. No matter the time of year, there is always something to get you outside.
