ABC Licenses
*Starting July 8, 2024, the Chico Police Department will begin collecting a $14 processing fee for ABC applications.
The Police Department reviews and provides feedback to the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) for specific processes. The three main forms/processes that we review and provide feedback on are:
- Catering Authorization Applications
- Daily License Applications
- Public Convenience or Necessity determinations
We request that Catering Authorizations and Daily License requests be submitted to the Chico Police Department at least 2 weeks prior to when the applicant would like the application returned. Please also consider that ABC requires 10 days for their processing. Therefore, we recommend that you submit the forms to us with enough time for your event, at least 3 weeks prior.
Public Convenience or Necessity requires an involved process and requires consultation with the Administrative Lieutenant.
