Through the City Manager’s Office, the City provides development assistance to businesses and individuals looking to locate or expand their business in Chico.  This includes coordination of City departments for Business Licenses and PermitsPlanning, and Building and Development Services, in an effort to facilitate business expansions and locations.

The Chico City Council defines the City’s economic development role as: “… assisting in creating the conditions which foster investment to occur within the community…”

Economic Development is one of the City’s top priorities. The City understands the relationship between a healthy and prosperous economy and the quality of life experienced and expected by Chico residents and visitors.

Team Chico

Leveraging multiple organizations to support economic development

New and expanding businesses in Chico are fortunate to have at their fingertips a variety of economic and workforce development organizations to assist them along their journey.  Recognizing the importance of collaboration and efficiency, the City of Chico took the lead in the creation of a coalition of providers to evaluate and respond to the specific needs of local businesses.  This coalition is Team Chico.
