  • Please ensure someone over the age of 18 is on site for your inspection along with any tools, ladders, or documents (including plans and forms).
  • Prepare and submit a Smoke Detector/Carbon Monoxide Affidavit prior to your inspection if required.

Final Fire Dept

Some building permits require a Final Fire Dept inspection. This inspection type is used for building permits where the Building Division finalizes the permit.

Final Fire Dept**

This inspection type with the double astrisk (**), is used on fire permits for Fire Prevention & Life Safety to finalize the permit.

  • For life safety system inspections, including fire alarms, sprinklers, and kitchen hood systems, a representative of the licensed contractor shall be on-site for the inspection.
  • Printed full-size approved plans shall be available on-site during the inspection.
  • For fire alarm system inspections, have printed evidence available from the central station monitoring company that a pre-test was conducted and what time the 24-hour battery test started.
