The City of Chico (City) is currently undergoing an update to the Sanitary Sewer Master Plan (Master Plan). The updated Master Plan includes an evaluation of the sewer system throughout the City for both capital and maintenance needs, to ensure it continues to function well into the future. The updated Master Plan will also project future flows based on the adopted Chico 2030 General Plan. The existing evaluation and future system planning will result in a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and associated projects that will be implemented to provide the City with a reliable wastewater collection system for the future.

 

The updated Master Plan will help ensure that the sewer system in Chico meets the needs of its residential, commercial and development community now and in the future. Understanding the system’s current capacity through the Master Plan will help the City plan for the future by outlining a detailed Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and associated projects to address future needs and ensure a reliable system moving forward.  

 

To share information about the Master Plan, the City of Chico hosted a virtual public meeting on Thursday, October 24, 2024, 6:00-7:00pm online through Microsoft Teams.
