On 7/28/21, close to 3:00 PM, a Chico Police Officer was dispatched to a car that was just stolen in The South One Mile Park area. The victim informed the officer that as he was unloading items to enjoy the day in the park, he saw a female driving away in his vehicle. The victim called Chico Police and provided a description of the female and his vehicle. Once the officer contacted the victim, a full description of the vehicle and the suspect was given to the on-duty officers.
Approximately 2 hours later, a Chico Police officer on routine patrol saw the vehicle at the Arco AM/PM gas station on Business Lane. Several Chico Police Officers responded to the area and contacted a female, identified as Jesse Nichole WHITED, age 33. Officers also confirmed WHITED had four (4) felony warrants, including one for Escape from Tehama County. WHITED was arrested without incident and later booked at the Butte County Jail for vehicle theft and the warrants.
