Wanted Felon Armed With An Uzi Apprehended By Police K9

On 01/28/2021 at 11:47 am, Chico Police Officers were dispatched to a disturbance at an apartment complex in the cul de sac of Via La Paz. It was learned that the male subject causing the disturbance was, Patrick Dowell Rollins (30). Officers were told that Rollins may be armed with a rifle. Rollins currently had a felony warrant for a weapon violation and was a convicted felon, prohibiting him from legally possessing weapons. Officer Marshall and his K9 partner Kimbo were summoned to the scene. As Officers were establishing a perimeter, Rollins exited an apartment. Officers gave Rollins verbal commands but he immediately fled on foot. Kimbo was deployed and chased Rollins down, delivering a bite. This was effective and Rollins was detained by officers. Rollins had a loaded 9mm Uzi down the front of pants and a loaded 9mm handgun in a holster on his belt. Rollins was taken to a local hospital for injures sustained from the dog bite. He was booked for violations of being a felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition and resisting arrest as well as his outstanding felony warrant for a charge also related to firearm possession.
