Vandalism to Downtown Businesses

During the early morning hours of March 9^th Chico Police Officers investigated a vandalism at the Hotel Diamond in downtown Chico which had just occurred.  A subject had broken a glass window on the front of the business.

Officers located a male subject in the area who was reportedly acting odd.  The male was identified as Mr. Devin Machado (29 years) and matched the description of the subject responsible for the vandalism.  Through the investigation, officers established probable cause to believe Mr. Machado had committed the vandalism and was subsequently arrested.

Over the next several hours, other businesses in the downtown Chico area telephoned the police department to report additional broken windows on the front of businesses.  The Chico Police Department is working to determine if Mr. Machado was responsible for the other vandalism incidents or if they were unrelated.
