Timber Creek Apartment Collision

Case # 23-002392

Post

On April 16, at about 5:49 AM, Chico Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a rollover collision in the parking lot of 1253 W. 5th Street (Timber Creek Apartments). Officers arrived on scene and discovered that a Chevy pickup truck had driven through the wrought-iron gate to the complex. The pickup continued and collided with several parked vehicles, rolled over onto its side, coming to a stop against a building. The truck driver did not have a pulse when emergency personnel arrived on scene. The driver was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital while CPR was in progress. At the time of this press release, the driver was listed in critical condition. Chico Police Traffic Division is handling the investigation. No other citizens were involved in this collision. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but a medical condition is not being ruled out. Streets surrounding the apartment complex were closed briefly but reopened while investigators focused their efforts just within the complex parking lot. The parking lot was opened to the public at about 10:00 AM. Anyone with information about this collision is being asked to call Chico Police Traffic Division at 530-897-4970.
