Theft Avoided-Suspects Arrested

On 12/26/2021 at 0454 hours, Chico Police Dispatch received a call from a security company monitoring Pick N Pull Auto Dismantlers located at 397 E. Park Avenue. The caller indicated they could see subjects on video going through vehicles inside the locked gates of the closed business. Officers from the Chico Police Department arrived on scene and began a search of the facility. Within minutes of entering the business Officers located one subject who fled. Officers established a perimeter and eventually located William Battinich and Ian Mickey who were taken into custody without incident. Both Battinich and Mickey were arrested and later transported to Butte County Jail.

Battinich was charged with the following:

Trespassing – 602 PC

Prowling – 647(h) PC

Mickey was charged with the following:

Trespassing – 602 PC

Prowling – 647(h) PC

Possession of Stolen Property – 496 PC

Violation of Probation – 1203.2 PC
