Teichert Ponds Shooting

On 10/16/22 at approximately 10:05 PM, Chico Police Dispatch received a report of a shooting at Teichert Ponds in Chico CA. The victim spoke with Dispatch and stated that he had been shot by unknown individuals while he was located in his tent. Officers responded to the area and began a search for the victim and suspects. Three subjects were located leaving the area. The subjects were detained, and Officers ultimately located two firearms near the subjects. The victim was also located, and he was transported to Enloe Hospital with gunshot wounds to his arm and leg.

All three suspects were arrested and transported to Chico Police Department. Detectives determined that Keyna Osorio, Damon Maurice Mackbee and Demetrius Eugene Brown were walking in the area of Teichert Ponds at the time of the shooting. Officers discovered evidence at the scene of the incident that matched the firearms found near the suspects.

Osorio was booked on violations of Attempted Murder (664/187 PC), and Felon in Possession of a Firearm (29800(a)(1) PC). Brown was booked on a violation of Attempted Murder (664/187 PC) and Possession of a Stolen Firearm (25850(c)(2) PC). Mackbee was booked on Prowling (647(h) PC). All three subjects were transported to Butte County Jail.
