Suspicious Vehicle Leads to Arrest

On Monday, August 28, 2023, the Chico Police Dispatch Center received a call regarding a suspicious occupied vehicle in the area of E. 6th Ave. and Esplanade. According to the caller, the occupants were trying to start the vehicle with a screwdriver.

An officer arrived on scene and attempted to contact the four occupants inside the vehicle, but they were uncooperative. Once more officers arrived on scene, they safely detained all the occupants.

Bradley Joost of Redding, CA, Torn Saechao of Redding, CA and Joshua Stevens of Yreka CA, were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. Trice Lanzer of Medford Oregon, was arrested for Felon in possession of Tear Gas, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Driving on a Suspended License.

Lazer was also arrested for 6 felony and misdemeanor warrants out of Siskiyou County for Elder Abuse, Identity Theft, Conspiracy, Drugs and Drug Paraphernalia. Stevens was also arrested on a Felony Warrant out of Siskiyou County for Drugs and Grand Theft.

The Chico Police Department would like to thank the University Police Department for their assistance and the community for being vigilant and reporting suspicious activity.
