Suspects Arrested after Strong-Armed Robbery

On September 23, 2021, at about 9:19 p.m. a citizen reported being the victim of a strong-arm robbery by an unknown suspect at Sycamore Pool in Lower Bidwell Park.

At about 11:45 p.m. the citizen called back saying he located the robbery suspect in front of 7-11, 101 Main Street. Chico Police Officers responded to the area and Gerald Roehrich (age 53) ran from officers. Roehrich discarded some of the victim’s property as he ran. Roehrich surrendered when he realized he was about to be outrun by Chico PD K-9 Aron.

Roehrich was positively identified as the suspect in the robbery. Roehrich’s associate, Marc Sogoian (age 61), was found to be in possession of additional items stolen from the victim. Both suspects were arrested.

Roehrich was booked into the Butte County Jail for a violation of section 211 PC- Robbery. Sogoian was booked into the Butte County Jail for a violation of section 496 PC- Possession of Stolen Property.
