Suicide

On 10/29/20 at 0046 hours the reporting party was pushing his bicycle through the parking lot of a business in the 2400 block of Notre Dame Blvd, when he discovered a male, laying on his back, outside a vehicle, that appeared deceased.  The reporting party ran to the nearby Chico Fire Station 4 and reported what he had discovered.  Chico Fire responded to the victim’s location and confirmed the victim was deceased. 

Chico Police officers arrived at the scene and located a firearm near the victim’s right hand and a gunshot wound to the victim’s head.  The scene was processed by officers who determined that the victim had taken his own life sometime earlier in the evening.  The Butte County Sheriff/Coroner was summoned to the scene for the removal of the deceased.   

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
