Strong Arm Robbery

On December 20th, 2020, at approximately 12:24 PM, the Chico Police Department began receiving reports of two female suspects shoplifting in the area of the Chico Mall, located at 1950 E. 20th Street, Chico. At approximately 1:20 PM, the Chico Police Department received a 911 report from a victim in the Target business parking lot, reporting that two female suspects had forcibly stolen her purse. The victim reported that she was able to recover her purse from the suspects.
The description of the strong-arm robbery suspects was consistent with the theft suspects from the Chico Mall. Chico Police Officers arrived and detained an 18- year old adult female (identification pending) and a 16-year old female suspect (name withheld). The suspects were in possession of stolen property and were positively identified by witnesses as the suspects in multiple crimes.
The juvenile suspect resisted arrest and kicked a police officer during her detention. The adult suspect was arrested for shoplifting, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and conspiracy to commit crime.
The juvenile suspect was arrested for attempted robbery, conspiracy to commit crime, and battery of a peace officer.
