Stolen Property Arrest Made

On June 26th, 2023, the Chico Police Department received information from a local business that their work truck had been stolen. The driver of the vehicle had been working at a job site in the City of Chico when the theft occurred. Officers located the vehicle in the 2500 block of Rash Lane. A subject, later identified as Harry Akerson, was observed unloading tools from the stolen vehicle and arrested.

A follow-up investigation identified Akerson as being responsible for stealing an additional vehicle and attached boat on June 22, 2023.

Akerson was booked into the Butte County Jail for three counts of possessing a stolen vehicle, grand theft, and possession of stolen property.
