Shooting on E. Lassen Ave.

On 03/31/2021 at approximately 2230 hours Chico Police received several 911 calls regarding a shooting that had just occurred on E. Lassen Ave near Godman Ave. Officers responded to the area and shut down traffic on E. Lassen Ave at Godman Ave. to search for evidence. Officers conducted an area check and found several spent shell casings in the roadway.

Through a preliminary investigation by patrol officers it was determined the shooting occurred between two separate vehicles, with the occupant of one of the vehicles shooting at the other. The victim and victim vehicle left the scene prior to officer arrival, as did the suspect vehicle. An area check for the involved persons was
unsuccessful.

The initial report by patrol officers will be forwarded to the Chico Police Departments
Violence Suppression Unit (VSU) for further investigation.
