Shooting in the 700 Block of W. 4th Avenue

On August 10th, 2023, at 9:04 PM, the Chico Police Department received reports of shots heard in the area of N. Cherry Street, Chico. Shortly afterward, an adult male arrived at a local area hospital suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers from the Chico Police Department located a shooting crime scene in the 700 block of W. 4th Avenue, Chico. Evidence located at the scene indicated that multiple handguns were fired in the parking lot. Bullet strikes were located on the property and in a nearby apartment residence. During the investigation, an additional adult male suffering from a gunshot wound arrived at a local area hospital. Crime Scene Investigators (CSIs) and Detectives from the Violence Suppression Unit (VSU) and Detective Division assisted in the investigation.

Evidence located at the scene indicated that the shooting may be related to the sale of a controlled substance and that the general public was not specifically targeted by the shooting suspects.
