Shooting

On Tuesday September 29^th, at 7:30 pm Chico Police Department Dispatch received a call of a shooting that had just occurred in the Chapman Town area.  Residents in the 800 block of Virginia St. were reporting a shooting involving two vehicles.  A short time later, a victim walked into Enloe Medical Center suffering from a gunshot wound; the victim was an occupant of one of the vehicles. 

Patrol Officers responded to both areas and began their initial investigation.  Detectives were called out and have now taken over the investigation. 

Given that the investigation is still ongoing, we are limiting the release of details in order to protect the integrity of the investigation.  We are asking anyone with any information regarding this shooting, or suspicious activity in the area, to please call the Chico Police Department Violence Suppression Unit and ask for Det. Schwyzer at 530-897-4900.
