Pursuit of Stolen Car Travels Through Chico
Chico, CA – On 05/29/2021, at approximately 1235 hours, The Chico
Police Department became aware of members of the Glenn County
Sheriff’s Office in pursuit of a stolen vehicle eastbound on
State Highway 32 coming toward Chico. The pursuit traveled into
west Chico from Highway 32, east to the Esplanade then into the
Chico downtown area at a high rate of speed. The pursuit then
traveled to the Chapmantown area where Glenn County deputies lost
sight of the vehicle. The unoccupied vehicle was later located on
Guill Street in Chico. The driver of the vehicle was not located
and remains at large.
The Chico Police Department did not engage in this pursuit out of
concern for the safety of the Chico public. Members of the Chico
Police Department assisted the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office by
attempting to close intersections, locating the stolen vehicle
and conducting an area check for the suspect.
Investigators with the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office are leading
the investigation into the identity of this suspect. Anyone with
