Possession of Fentanyl for Sale Arrest

On 5/4/2022 at approximately 1944 hours two Chico Police Officers conducting patrol in the area of Humboldt Ave and Bartlett St. contacted a male subject sitting in a car parked on Humboldt Ave. The subject, identified as Gabriel Holt, was on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) and searchable per the terms of his release from custody.
Shortly after the contact, Holt attempted to run from officers. He was quickly apprehended and handcuffed. A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted. Inside the vehicle on the passenger’s seat, officers found 2.44 ounces (70 grams) of fentanyl, along with evidence of possession for sale. Fentanyl, a highly addictive and sometimes lethal opiate that is 50 times more potent than Heroin, sales for approximately $100 per gram.
Holt, a convicted felon on PRCS for sales of a controlled substance, was again arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sale. Holt was booked into the Butte County Jail.
