Climate Action Commission Unscheduled Vacancy

The Chico City Council is seeking applications from volunteers to serve on the Climate Action Commission due to an unscheduled vacancy with a term expiring in January 2025. Applicants must be residents of the City of Chico and qualified voters (18 years or older). 

The Climate Action Commission prepares and recommends approval of the long-term climate action plan; monitors and recommends updates to the climate action plan based on quantified metrics to measure and evaluate reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and community benefits; advises Council on how to strategically accelerate Chico’s progress towards achieving the goals in the climate action plan.  The Climate Action Commission currently meets on the second Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m. (or as needed) in the Council Chamber Building, 421 Main Street. All applications, with required supplementals are due by Friday, September 15th by 5:00 p.m. in the City Clerk’s Office, City Municipal Building, 411 Main Street.  The City Council will make its appointment at a regularly scheduled meeting to be determined after the closure of the recruitment period.  The Climate Action Commission Application and Supplemental Questionnaire are located in the links below.
