Officer Assaulted During Arrest

On 05/20/2023, at approximately 3:10 AM, Chico Police Officers responded to an address on Luciano Circle for a report of domestic violence. CPD officers quickly arrived on scene and contacted the involved parties. During the investigation, it was determined the suspect was a juvenile female who did not live at the residence. When officers attempted to detain the female suspect, she became combative and physically resisted both officers. The suspect then proceeded to kick the first officer in the side of the head. A second officer was bitten on the right wrist by the suspect, which caused a minor injury. Ultimately, the suspect was taken into custody without further incident and did not sustain any injuries as a result of the incident.
The first officer was not injured and did not require any medical treatment. The second officer was treated at a local hospital for injuries to his right wrist and was released. The female suspect was arrested for Resisting an Officer by Threat/Violence, Felony Assault on a Peace Officer, and Domestic Battery. She was then transported to Butte County Juvenile Hall.
