Negligent Discharge of a Firearm

On 02/05/21, around 3:50 PM, Chico Police Dispatch received several calls reporting shots fired in the backyard of 1115 Olive St. Police units responded along with a member of the BCBH Mobile Crisis Unit. Officers attempted to contact the resident for about an hour utilizing a police vehicle’s public address speaker. Kathleen Eberhardt eventually walked out to yell at the officers and demand they leave her property. She was detained without incident. Evidence was obtained that supported the belief Eberhardt had negligently and dangerously discharged a firearm in the rear yard of her residence.

Eberhardt was booked into Butte County Jail for resisting, delaying, or obstructing officers in the course of their duties and willful discharge of a firearm in a grossly negligent manner.
