Missing Person

On August 12th at 11:54 p.m., the Chico Police Dispatch Center received a 911 call of a possible kidnapping which had just occurred at an address in north Chico. Multiple officers responded and began an area check and investigation related to this call. The information they were obtaining was very convoluted and inconsistent and officers were unable to substantiate that a kidnapping had actually occurred. At this point, this incident is being investigated as a missing person under suspicious circumstances.

The investigation is being led by the Chico Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Section. Due to the nature of the investigation, limited information will be released at this time, including names of parties involved. This press released will be updated as more information becomes available.
