Missing Juvenile Determined a Runaway

On November 7, 2020, at approximately 7:50 PM Chico Police Officers responded to the report of a missing juvenile. Officers did an extensive canvass of the immediate and surrounding area and did not locate the juvenile. The investigation, including speaking with both of the juvenile’s parents, led Officers to believe the juvenile was a voluntary missing/runaway juvenile. A missing person report was taken, and the juvenile was entered into the missing persons system.
The juvenile’s information and possible destination were broadcast to surrounding agencies and the agency of the juvenile’s possible destination. In the early morning hours of the following day, Chico Police Detectives received information the juvenile had been located several counties away from Butte County.
