Major Collision into a Structure

On October 6, 2023, Chico Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a solo vehicle accident into a structure in the 2300 block of Esplanade in Chico. Officers quickly arrived on scene, along with medical and fire personnel. Life saving measures were immediately performed on the driver of the vehicle. The driver was the sole occupant in the vehicle at the time of the collision. The driver suffered major injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to a local hospital.

The Chico Police Department MAIT (Major Accident Investigation Team) was called to the scene to conduct the investigation. No road closures or detours were necessary during this incident. The Chico Police Department MAIT team will continue their investigation into this incident moving forward and provide updates as they become available.
