Homicide Investigation

On August 1st, 2021 at approximately 3:50 pm, Chico Police officers responded to 11301 Midway (Comanche Creek) on a report of a stabbing. It was reported that two male subjects were involved in an altercation and one subject had been stabbed. Officers arrived on scene and located an unidentified male subject suffering from a stab wound to the chest. The victim was transported to Enloe Hospital where he ultimately died of his injuries. A male subject matching the description of the other involved party was located about a block away from the murder scene. He was detained by officers.

Detectives responded to the scene and took over the investigation. They are still on scene determining the cause of the stabbing and if any additional subjects are outstanding. Based on the initial investigation, this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety. The identification of the victim is currently unknown. This is still an active investigation and no further information will be posted at this time.
