Homicide at 1521 Nord Avenue (Nord Gardens)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -HOMICIDE-
The adult victim in the above investigation has died from the gunshot wound he suffered during the incident. The victim was identified as 21 year old Joshua Elysee. The second victim in this investigation was treated and released from the hospital last night. His identity will remain confidential due to him being a juvenile.

This investigation is being treated as a homicide and no further information will be provided at this time. The Chico Police Department is asking anyone who may have information or witnessed this incident to please call the department at (530)897-4911.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -SHOOTING-
Wednesday, April 15TH, 2020
On April 15th, 2020 at approximately 8:46 pm, Chico Police Dispatch began receiving numerous 911 calls regarding a shooting the occurred in the parking lot of 1521 Nord Avenue (Nord Gardens). Chico Police units arrived within moments and found one victim lying in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Enloe Hospital with life threatening injuries. As officers were on scene, they learned of a second victim; a 16-year-old juvenile had sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to an upper extremity. That victim was transported to Enloe Hospital where he is expected to survive. Detectives were called out to the scene and are actively investigating the incident. No further information will be given at this time due to the sensitivity of the investigation.
