Grand Theft Sunglass Hut

On 01/13/2022 The Sunglass Hut, inside the Chico Market Place, located at 1950 E. 20^th St., became the victim of a grand theft for the 5^th time in the last year.  The most recent occurring on Saturday, 01/08/2022.

Today the suspects entered the store wearing ski masks to disguise their appearance.  The suspects immediately went to the stores display cases and removed several pairs of sunglasses, placing them in bags the suspects had brought into the store.  The suspects then exited the north side of the mall and into a waiting vehicle, leaving the area.

Chico officers were on scene within a minute of the call for service and were unable to locate the suspects. 

The suspects in today’s theft were described as three black male adults. Exact age was unknown but were believed to be in their 20’s. The suspect’s vehicle was not seen so a description was not provided. The total loss is expected to be in the tens of thousands of dollars.
