Fentanyl Bust at Windchime Park
The Chico Police TARGET Team was busy today at Windchime Park, readying campers for tomorrow’s camping enforcement. Subjects camping at Windchime Park had been offered sheltering options at the Pallet Shelter, Torres Shelter, and alternate Campsite at Eaton Rd and Cohasset Rd.
While officers were in the park a vehicle pulled up to the curb. A subject walked up to the passenger window of the vehicle, and it had the look of a narcotics transaction about to occur. As the officer walked towards the vehicle the subject at the window noticed him and quickly walked away warning the occupants that the cops were coming. The officer looked inside the vehicle just in time to see the passenger try and conceal pink-colored fentanyl in his hand. He was taken into custody without further incident. He was in possession of approximately 2 grams of fentanyl. The suspect was identified as 27-year-old Chico resident Caleb Tatum. Tatum was found to have three outstanding misdemeanor warrants from Glenn County.
