Fatal Vehicle Accident on Notre Dame Blvd and Skyway

** UPDATE ** Chico Police has confirmed the identity of the driver involved in this morning’s fatal collision. The driver was identified as Ashley Leon, a 29-yr old female from Chico. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a factor in this collision until toxicology services are returned. Any further questions can be directed to Sgt. Date: March 26, 2020
On March 26, 2020, at about 1:15 AM in the morning, the Chico Police Department responded to a vehicle collision at the intersection of Notre Dame Boulevard and Skyway. Upon arrival Officers discovered a single vehicle had crashed into a retaining wall on the northeast corner of the intersection. The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, was found deceased inside. Members of the Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene to investigate the collision. The roadway was closed for approximately 3 1/2 hours. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call Chico Police at 897-4970.
The name of the driver will not be released until next of kin are notified.
