Early Morning Thefts

On 05/20/2023, at approximately 6:35 AM, Chico Police Dispatch received two separate and unrelated calls regarding thefts that were occurring. The first reported incident was located in the 400 block of W. 9th Street, where a female suspect was seen by a witness crawling into a locked garage through a window. Officers arrived on scene, and after conducting their investigation, Heidi Kelly, 43 years of age, was arrested for burglary.
During the same time frame, another subject contacted Chico Police Dispatch regarding a male subject that he witnessed enter a locked vehicle in the 1000 block of Aspen Street. The reporting party followed the suspect until he was contacted by Officers on E. 9th Street and Cypress Street. The suspect, identified as Reshaun Jacobs, 20 years of age, was in possession of a concealed firearm that was stolen during a residential burglary in 2016. After completing the investigation, Jacobs was arrested for multiple violations to include vehicle burglary, possession of stolen property, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia, providing false identification to a police officer, and a warrant out of Stockton, California, for being in possession of a concealed firearm.
