DUI Arrest

At about 3:30 p.m. this afternoon, Chico Police Officers responded to a reported vehicle collision on E. 8th St near the intersection of Bartlett St.
Officers arrived on scene and determined Mr. Colin Blount (34 years) had been driving westbound on E. 8th St near Bartlett St when he lost control of his vehicle. Mr. Blount collided with another vehicle driving westbound on E. 8th St, forcing both vehicles off of the roadway and into a gas station parking lot at the location. The vehicles collided with a gas pump and another parked vehicle. Fortunately, there were no injuries or road closures resulting from the collision.
During the collision investigation, Mr. Blount displayed objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication. A DUI investigation was conducted, and Mr. Blount was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired by the effects of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of greater than .08%.
