Driving Under the Influence and Resist Arrest w/ Violence

On 05/16/20 at approximately 08:27 pm., a Chico Police Officer was on routine patrol and observed a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Humboldt Ave. and Poplar St. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle and watched it swerve onto the wrong side of the roadway several times before pulling over. The officer contacted the driver and observed the objective symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. The driver was identified as 31 y/o Trevin Poscich. Poscich refused to perform field sobriety tests and began to resist the officers attempts to detain him. During Poscich’s violent resistance, he kicked one of the officers. The officer received minor injuries not requiring medical attention. Poscich was currently on probation for a prior DUI at the time of this stop. Poscich was charged with the following:

23152(a)(b) VC – DUI
14601.2 VC – Driving a Suspended License
1203.2 PC – Violation of Probation
69 PC – Resisting Arrest with Violence
