Death in Public

On July 23rd, 2023, at approximately 7:15 PM, Chico Police Officers were dispatched to the Petersen Drive area of Lower Bidwell Park in Chico for a possible deceased person. The reporting party discovered the subject lying in some bushes near the listed location. Officers arrived and confirmed the subject was deceased. No obvious signs of foul play were located at the scene.

The identity of the decedent is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
