CPD Street Crimes Unit

Week one

Post

The Chico Police Department Street Crimes Unit has been tasked with pro-actively addressing violent crime and criminal activity occurring within the City of Chico.
The mission of the Street Crimes Unit is to detect, deter, and disrupt street level criminal activity associated with violent crime.
The following are examples of arrests made by the Unit this week:

-Daniel Alexichduran was arrested for possession of approximately two pounds of marijuana for sale.

-Joshua Boles and Rocky Shelton were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. Shelton was also arrested for possession of tear gas by a felon. Worth noting was the machete and replica firearm located within the vehicle they were operating.

-Chad Brown was arrested for the possession of approximately one ounce of methamphetamine for sale, transportation of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

-Daniel Balduck and Hydee Nystrom were arrested for the possession of controlled substance for sale and the transportation of controlled substance. Nystrom was additionally charged with the possession of drug paraphernalia. During the course of the investigation evidence of drug sales was collected to include $872 in cash and approximately 33 grams of methamphetamine.

-James Lang was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

-Christopher Hill was arrested for the possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, and driving on a suspended license.

NOT PICTURED
-Eddie Love was arrested for 6 outstanding warrants.
-Katie Robinson was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Due to California’s current zero-bail status for most misdemeanor and “low-level” felony crimes the above offenders have all been released back into the community on a promise to appear in Court at a future date. However, this will not deter the CPD Street Crimes Unit from policing high crime areas and holding offenders accountable for their criminal actions. It is the goal of the CPD Street Crimes Unit to enhance the safety and quality of life of the community and its citizens during these trying times by proactively addressing violent crime and criminal activity.
