Climate Action Commission Vacancy Recruitment Extended

The Chico City Council is seeking additional applications from volunteers to serve on the Climate Action Commission due to an unscheduled vacancy with a term expiring in January 2025. Applicants must be residents of the City of Chico and qualified voters (18 years or older). 

The Climate Action Commission prepares and recommends approval of the long-term climate action plan; monitors and recommends updates to the climate action plan based on quantified metrics to measure and evaluate reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and community benefits; advises Council on how to strategically accelerate Chico’s progress towards achieving the goals in the climate action plan. 

The Climate Action Commission currently meets on the second Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m. (or as needed) in the Council Chamber Building, 421 Main Street. 

An application and supplemental questionnaire must be completed for this position.

All applications, with required supplemental questionnaire are due by Friday, December 1st by 5:00 p.m. in the City Clerk’s Office, City Municipal Building, 411 Main Street or may be emailed to stina.cooley@chicoca.gov.
