Chico Animal Shelter, By Appointment Only
In order to continue to provide excellent customer service to the community, the Chico Animal Shelter, located at 2579 Fair Street in Chico, will continue to conduct business by appointment only.
Many services – like reporting a lost or found animal, purchasing a dog license, reporting a barking dog, or looking at animals available for adoption – can be found by visiting the shelter’s website. Information on what to do if you’ve lost or found a pet or can no longer keep a pet, or how to volunteer at the shelter, can also be found at the shelter’s website: www.chicoanimalshelter.org
If you find a stray dog in the City of Chico, please call Animal Control at 530-897-4960 to arrange for pick up or to set up a time to bring the dog to the shelter. If your pet is at the shelter, please call 530-894-5630 to set up an appointment to reclaim. Both phone lines are monitored by staff, so please leave a message with a good call back number if you get an answering machine.
If you’d like to help the Chico Animal Shelter, consider volunteering or donating items from our wish list. For more information, visit www.chicoanimalshelter.org or call 530-894-5630.
