Burglary Suspect in Custody

On 9/11/2022, at approximately 7:37 am, Chico Police officers responded to the area of 2850 Sierra Sunrise Terrance on a subject attempting to steal a motorcycle. The Victim noticed the subject later identified as, Nolan Dodson pushing the Victim’s motorcycle out of the driveway. When the Victim confronted Dodson, Dodson dropped the motorcycle and fled on foot. Officers responded to the area to conduct an area check for Dodson. As the area check was being conducted, an officer observed Dodson actively breaking windows and removing the screens using a flagpole to enter the occupied residence at 2750 Sierra Sunrise Terrace. The elderly occupant was yelling at Dodson trying to prevent him from entering the home. The officers safely detained Dodson without incident. The officers booked Dodson into the Butte County Jail for violation of 459 PC – (Residential Burglary) 10851 CVC – (Possession of a Stolen Vehicle) and 3056 – (Parole Hold).
