Chico, CA – On 3/6/20 at approximately 1846 hrs. Chico Police Officers responded to a report of a subject who assaulted a female while leaving a business in the area of the 2000 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Responding officers located a subject in the area that matched the reported description.
Officers contacted Chico resident Stephen Vest. Vest was exhibiting symptoms of drug intoxication. When officers attempted to detain Vest, he became combative and was taken to the ground. Vest violently resisted attempts to detain him. Vest bit one officer in the leg, causing minor injury. A second officer also sustained minor injuries during the incident. Vest was arrested and transported to the Butte County Jail on the following charges;

69 PC: Resisting with Force
22210 PC: Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
