On 12/24/19 at approximately 1140 hours, Chico Police Officers responded to the area of the Transit Center, 345 W. 2nd St. for a reported stabbing. Officers arrived and located an adult male who was suffering from a laceration to his left knee. The victim said he had been involved in a verbal argument with a known suspect while getting off the bus. The victim said the argument then escalated into a physical fight. The victim said during the fight, the suspect brandished a knife. The suspect then slashed at the suspect, causing the laceration to his knee. The victim was treated at the scene and released. The victim’s wound was non-life threatening. The suspect fled on foot northbound on foot.
Officers located a subject matching the description of the suspect near the intersection of Mansion and Arcadian Ave. The subject, later identified as Daisy Caspary, age 39 of Chico, was detained without incident. Caspary was positively identified as the suspect and placed under arrest for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The knife used in the incident was also recovered. Caspary was ultimately transported to the Butte County Jail.
