On May 16, 2021, at about 2:39 a.m., Chico Police Officers responded to the 400 block of W. 5th Street, Chico. A 911 caller advised they were at a house party and there was a subject outside the residence causing a disturbance. The caller advised the subject was in possession of a firearm.
Officers arrived on scene in less than a minute. Officers contacted Samuel Destine-Terrance Trammell (age 23) outside the residence. Officers tried to speak with Trammell but he was uncooperative. Trammell reached into his waistband and discarded a 9mm Glock style “ghost gun.” The firearm was fully loaded with an extended, high-capacity magazine. Trammell attempted to flee the scene but officers were able to apprehend him.
Dispatch advised Trammell was on probation out of Alameda County for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Trammell was arrested for violations of sections 29800(a)(1) PC- Felon in Possession of a Firearm, 30305(a)(1) PC- Felon in Possession of Ammunition, and 148(a)(1) PC- Resisting or Delaying a Peace Officer. Trammell was booked into the Butte County Jail.
