2023 Pavement Improvements
Project Description
The 2023 Pavement Improvements Project consists of three locations in Chico that will primarily receive slurry seal treatment, along with some additional work. Please refer to each of the sections below for more information on the work to be completed at each location.
E. Lassen Avenue
For the E. Lassen Avenue location, a slurry seal treatment will occur along E. Lassen Avenue from San Jose Street (near the Esplanade) to Floral Avenue. A grind and inlay paving treatment will occur along El Paso Way from E. Lassen Avenue to El Verano Way. Both streets will also receive new striping within these limits.
East Avenue
A slurry seal treatment will occur along East Avenue from Cohasset Road to the roundabout at Wildwood Park, and on all four legs of the intersection of East Avenue and Cohasset Road.
Mulberry Neighborhood
A portion of the neighborhood south of Mulberry Street will receive a slurry seal treatment. The limits of this project include all the streets between Mulberry Street and Park Avenue that are also between E. 12th Street and E. 20th Street.
Environmental Clearance
The three locations in the 2023 Pavement Improvements project are exempt under two separate California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Notice of Exemption (NOE) documents.
