Armed Robbery
Case# 21-007524
On December 14, 2021, at approximately 1:08 a.m., the Chico Police Department received a call about an armed robbery that had just occurred at Arco Gas, 110 W. 9th Street. Officers arrived and determined an unknown white male pointed a firearm at the clerk and demanded cash. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen on foot northbound on Oroville Avenue. Officers conducted an extensive area check with the assistance of Chico PD K-9 Aron, but they were unable to locate the suspect.

Suspect in Custody
The Chico Police Department Violence Suppression Unit (VSU) identified DAYVON HANKINS (23) of Sacramento, as a suspect in the robbery that occurred at W. 12th St. and Ivy St. on October 28th 2020. VSU Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for HANKINS.
On 12/08/2021, Sacramento PD arrested HANKINS on Chico PD’s arrest warrant for robbery. Sacramento PD had also obtained arrest warrants for HANKINS for unrelated robberies in their jurisdiction.

Data Entry Error- Police Portal Updated
On Nov. 30th, 2021, the Chico Police Department issued an arrest warrant for Anthony Ryan Jones. A data entry error occurred on the Chico Police Portal with the incorrect Penal Code section of 664/187(A)PC being entered. The correct Penal Code is 422 (A) PC – 664 (A) PC. The error has been corrected and the portal has been updated.
The warrant for Jones is still active and anyone with information on the whereabouts of Anthony Ryan Jones is asked to please contact the Chico Police Dispatch Center at (530) 897-4911.
Update to Unsolved Fatal Hit and Run Traffic Collision Involving a Pedestrian
Case# 16-1244
The Chico Police Department and the victim’s family are asking for the public’s help in solving a cold case from 2016. On February 17th, 2016 about 7:30pm, Officers were dispatched to a hit and run traffic collision near the intersection of W. Sacramento Ave. and Citrus Ave. In this collision, a female named Elizabeth Lewis was struck and dragged by a westbound vehicle. The vehicle drove several blocks before Lewis was dislodged from the vehicle. The vehicle did not stop and fled the scene. A citizen found Lewis on the side of the road near W.
Two People Arrested for Resisting and Obstruction
Case# 21-007179
On 11/28/2021 at 2040 hours Chico police officers were dispatched to a disturbance at the Speedway Gas station located at the corner of Cohasset Rd. and Pillsbury Rd. The first officer on scene met with the store employee who advised the officer that the person causing the disturbance had left. The officer was about to leave when he was contacted by a concerned citizen in the parking lot. The citizen pointed out an intoxicated female, sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked at the gas pumps.
Vehicle Theft/ Pursuit Arrest
Case# 21-006911
On November 10, 2021, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on E. 5th Avenue. The driver, Rosa Valdez (age 42), had a felony warrant for her arrest. As officers were about to detain Valdez she fled in her vehicle. Officers pursued the vehicle for about one mile and then terminated the pursuit.
On November 15, 2021, a citizen reported their Ford Escort stolen and they named Valdez as the suspect in the theft.

On November 18, 2021 Constance MCMILLEN (38 years old) was reported missing to the Chico Police Department. MCMILLEN is described as a white female adult, 5’03” tall, 220 lbs., brown eyes, and brown hair. Currently, MCMILLEN’s whereabouts are unknown, and the Chico Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating her. If anyone has any information regarding MCMILLEN’s whereabouts, they are encouraged to contact the Chico Police Department at (530) 897-4911.

Sexual Assault Arrest
Case# 21-003649
On 6-19-2021 at approximately 1:30 AM, Chico Police Officers contacted the victim of a sexual assault that had recently occurred in the south Chico area. Chico Police Officers conducted an initial investigation and transported the victim to an area hospital where the victim was treated and evidence was collected. The case was forwarded to the Detective Bureau for further investigation into the sexual assault.
Missing Juvenile
Case#21-006944
On 11/16/21, at approximately 4:30 PM, the below juvenile, Amilio Pass, left a location on the 200-block of Cohasset Rd and did not provide information on a possible destination. Amilio was last seen wearing an orange/brown sweatshirt and green cargo pants. Foul play is not suspected at this time, but family is concerned.

Theft Avoided- Subject Arrested
Case# 21-006877
On 11/14/2021 at 0458 hours, Chico Police Dispatch received a call from a security company monitoring Pick N Pull Auto Dismantlers located at 397 E. Park Avenue. The caller indicated they could see a subject on video going through vehicles inside the locked gates of the closed business. Officers from the Chico Police Department arrived on scene and began a search of the facility. Within three minutes of entering the business Officers located Terry Miller who was taken into custody without incident. Miller was arrested and later transported to Butte County Jail.

On 11/06/21, Chico Police Department detectives located Shanicqua JONES and her daughter. Both are safe and are no longer in the Chico area. The Chico Police Department would like to thank the community for their assistance.
Arrest of Stolen Vehicle Suspect
Case# 21-006599
On 11/5/21 at approximately 0824 hrs. CPD Dispatch received a phone call from an alert citizen who reported seeing a stolen vehicle in the 2500 block of the Esplanade. The reporting party advised the vehicle was occupied by one subject. Officers arrived on scene and spotted the stolen vehicle as it drove southbound on the Esplanade. A felony traffic stop was initiated and the suspect, Cody Allen, was arrested without incident. Allen was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Coffee with a Cop
The Chico Police Department is participating in a Coffee with a Cop event on Tuesday, November 16th from 8:00AM-10:00Am in partnership with two local coffee shops in town.
The purpose of ‘Coffee with a Cop’ is to give the community the opportunity to meet with an Officer in a relaxed setting for a conversation about the department’s work around Chico.
CalWater Tower Incident
Case# 21-006572
On Sunday 10/31/21 just before 10:30 a.m. Chico Police Officers were dispatched to the CalWater water tower located at Oleander Avenue and E. 6th Avenue Chico, CA after several passerby’s noticed a male holding a long object sitting atop the tower. Fearing the subject was possibly armed with a rifle, Officers cautiously responded and prepared to communicate with the individual. For over two hours Chico Police Officers and Crisis Negotiators attempted to get the male down from the tower. The male, later identified as 39-year-old Derrick CRIST, refused to come down.
Halloween 2021 Enforcement Stats
The Chico Police Department prepared for the 2021 Halloween weekend by once again having an increased Police presence, particularly in the south campus and “Avenues” neighborhoods, popular as student housing. Historically, this weekend is filled with large crowds, large parties and out of town partygoers. In order to ensure uninterrupted service to the rest of the City, off-duty Chico Police officers were ordered to work during the Halloween Operational period that covered Thursday October 28th at 6pm through Monday November 1st at 1:00 am.
Strong Armed Robbery

On 10/31/2021 at approximately 0120 hours, the Chico Police Department received a call about a strong arm robbery that had just occurred in the area of E. 20th Street and Mulberry Street. The victim indicated he was assaulted by a group of male subjects and property was taken as a result. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Suspect Wanted for Violent Felonies in 3 Counties Arrested in Chico
Case# 21-005132
On October 29, 2021, at approximately 6:20 PM, detectives from the Chico Police Department Violence Suppression Unit observed MATHEW SPENCER (41) in front of a residence in the 400 block of Autumn Gold Drive, Chico. SPENCER was subject to (5) felony arrest warrants for criminal and domestic violence from 3 different counties. SPENCER was also subject to (2) misdemeanor warrants.
Criminal Threats/Weapon Violations/Battery Investigation
Case# 21-006495
On 10/29/21 at approximately 0914 hrs. CPD Dispatch received a phone call from an employee of a local business in the 2000 block of Dr. MLK Pkwy. that a subject was inside the business and chasing an employee with an axe. Several CPD Units responded Code-3 to the scene and discovered 38 year old Michael Creek being detained by several bystanders in front of the business. A subsequent investigation revealed that Creek was asked to leave the business by an employee.

Chico, CA –
On October 7, 2021, at 05:01 am, Chico Police Officers were
dispatched to a shooting at the City Plaza, 401 Broadway Street,
Chico.
Officers arrived on scene within two minutes and located the
victim of a gunshot wound. Officers began treating the victim.
Witnesses reported seeing a male suspect next to a parked vehicle
on W. 5th Street. The suspect fired multiple rounds at the
victim. The suspect fled the scene after the shooting and has not
been located.
