The Chico Police Department is now accepting applications for the Police Community Advisory Board (PCAB).

PCAB is a relationship between the community and its police department with the goals of working to enhance communication, transparency, and trust between the community and department. The Chico Police Department strongly embraces the philosophy of Community Policing in all its daily operations and functions.

As a member of the board, participants will partner with Chief Billy Aldridge and staff on a regular basis to collaborate on initiatives which work to foster communication, address concerns, strengthen relationships and build trust between the police department and our community.

Chief Aldridge states, “It is my goal to ensure our community has a system in place to provide a voice and participate in many areas of their police department’s operation, which helps to create transparency, trust, and respect for each other.”

Chief Aldridge desires to create a PCAB which accurately represents a diverse demographic makeup of community members, groups, and business owners/representatives.

The deadline to submit applications is June 23, 2023.
