Which Trees does the City Maintain?

street and treesThe City owns and maintains “Street Trees” that are located in the Right-Of-Way for the benefit of the community. There are three typical Right-Of-Way planting conditions along City streets:
1) sidewalk separated from the curb by a park strip; Where the right-of-way typically ends behind the sidewalk.

treesThe City’s urban forest is made up of trees growing on private property, along City streets, and in parks. Chico has developed a Final Urban Forest Master Plan (UFMP), which will guide the City and tree care professionals to proactively and effectively manage our trees.
