HOW TO GET STARTED:

  1. Have a group of 10 or more? Please contact Shane Romain, Park Services Coordinator prior to the workday at (530) 896-7831 email:parkinfo@chicoca.gov
  2. Volunteers under 18 need to have a parent/guardian release form signed prior to work. Download: Volunteer Application
  3. Dress in layers for the weather and wear Closed-toed shoes; bring your own water bottle and work gloves if you have them.

Saturday, February 24th (9 am to noon) Old Humboldt Rd Cleanup

Volunteers will meet on Old Humboldt Road. The focus will be litter removal. Wear closed-toe, sturdy shoes, work clothes and bring gloves & water. Event sponsored by Respect the Walls.

Saturday, February 24th (9 am to noon) Lindo Channel Cleanup.

Volunteers will meet at the bridge at Esplanande and Lindo Channel next to Chico Nut, 2020 Esplanade. The focus will be litter removal from the Lindo Channel. Wear closed-toe, sturdy shoes, work clothes and bring gloves & water. Event sponsored by Chico Community Watch.

Saturday, February 24th at (9am to noon) Pine Trail Upper Bidwell Park

Volunteers will be working to re-open the Pine Trail following the Santos Fire and re-constructing portions of the trail . Wear long sleeves/pants and sturdy shoes and bring water and a snack. Tools and gloves will be provided. 
Parking at trail head is limited so please carpool if possible. If you drive please park in the pull-off on the South Side of Hwy 32 (trail head is on the North side of Hwy 32). Because of the limited visibility & high speeds please use extreme caution when parking & crossing Hwy 32. Sponsored by Chico Velo- Trailworks.

Saturday, February 24th (9 am to noon) Lindo Channel Cleanup

Volunteers will meet at Fern. and West Lindo Ave. The focus will be litter removal from the Lindo Channel. Wear closed-toe, sturdy shoes, work clothes and bring gloves & water. Event sponsored by Chico First.

Saturday, February 24th (1 to 4 pm) Comanche Creek Greenway

Volunteers will remove weeds or pick up trash. Meet at the Greenway’s gravel parking lot at East Park Ave x Midway. Please wear closed-toe shoes and sturdy long pants (no leggings). For more information, call Janet at (530) 966-6861. Event sponsored by Friends of Comanche Creek Greenway. Rain cancels.

Sunday, February 25th (9am to noon) Comanche Creek Greenway

Volunteers will remove Himalayan Blackberry, spread wood chips and pick up trash. Meet at Comanche Creek Greenway’s gravel parking lot at East Park Ave and Midway. Wear sturdy closed-toed shoes and long pants (no leggings). For more information, call Heidi at 530-526-5000. Sunday, February 25 (1 pm to 4 pm) Bidwell Park - Sycamore Restoration Site at One Mile just North of Caper Acres- meet Friends of Bidwell Park at the Sycamore Baseball field parking lot. We will start working in the area north of othe baseball field near the creek.Volunteers will prune vegetation and remove invasive weeds to improve health of the area and visability. Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring your own water. Everyone welcome. For more information, call Lise at (530) 521-2365.
