November 2018 - General Municipal Election

The City of Chico General Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 where three seats on the Council will be considered by the voters. The three City Council seats are currently filled by Councilmembers Coolidge, Sorensen and Vice Mayor Fillmer. The term of office commences on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 and ends in December 2022.

Nomination Period - July 16, 2018 through August 10, 2018

The nomination period for when candidates can pull papers has opened. Anyone wishing to take out papers to run for office should call 896-7250 to make an appointment to meet with the City Clerk. Should any incumbent decide to not run for reelection, a five day extension will be provided in order for other interested citizens to take out papers. That period, if called, will end on August 15th at 5:00 p.m.
